The Drifters “Do You Dream Of Me?”


The Drifters, one of the biggest selling groups of all time, release their new single ‘Do You Dream of Me’ on Mother’s Day, Sunday 14th March 2010 through their own Neon Records label.

The single is available via download and on CD where it is coupled with “Dance With Me.”

Do You Dream of Me’ is the first official single release from The Drifters in 30 years. It features Michael Williams on lead vocal and is produced by Shaun Lowe (Prince, Big Country, Sting). Shaun also produced 4 brand new recordings with the Drifters that were included in their 2009 album Atlantic Records/Rhino release, Five Decades & Moore.

The Drifters were founded 57 years ago by George Treadwell and Ahmet Ertegun. Since their creation the band has featured over 60 vocalists, many of whom returned to perform alongside the current line-up at a unique Drifters Legends concert at the O2 arena in 2009.

In March, The Drifters, will join The Four Tops, Temptations and Three Degrees as special guests, performing live to over 40,000 people on their 11 date Greatest Hits UK tour. Later in the year, The Drifters embark on a 70-date UK headline tour, which will see them performing to over 100,000 fans.

On both tours the band will perform a selection of gems from their treasure trove of hits from the last 56 years, which include “Save the Last Dance For Me”, “Under the Boardwalk” and “There Goes My First Love”, as well as current single “Do You Dream of Me.”

The Drifters have sold over 214 million singles and 114 million albums worldwide. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1988 in recognition of their global success spanning 6 decades.
