Marc Almond Releases Double ‘A’ Side

Single Produced By Tony Visconti

Marc Almond has announced the release of double A side single Burn Bright/The Dancing Marquis on 4th November, the stunning result of his collaboration with legendary record producer Tony Visconti (David Bowie, T-Rex, The Moody Blues, Morrissey). Marc defines the partnership as one of the highlights of his career.

“I’ve wanted to work with Tony more than any other producer” – comments Almond on his latest achievement. – “He produced some of the most life changing and seminal records of my life. Working with Tony, brings things into a full circle – it was a fantastic, fascinating and fun experience working with him.”

Visconti produced and mixed both tracks with a distinctive pop feel: Burn Bright, a brief burst of light in a dark world and The Dancing Marquis, an exotic Glam track for the perfumed exhibitionist inside us, in typical Almond meets Visconti style. Martin McCarrick (ex-Siouxsie and the Banshees and Therapy?) from Marc’s Torment and Torero’s to Mother Fist days, is back working with Marc again after many years and wrote the string arrangement for The Dancing Marquis, a song partly inspired by Henry Paget 5th Earl of Angelsey, who was also known as The Dancing Marquis.

Burn Bright/The Dancing Marquis will be available as a download from all usual retailers; for the die hard fans looking for a highly collectable piece, Strike Force Entertainment will print 1,000 copies on 7″ purple coloured vinyl in a beautifully designed gatefold sleeve, complete with a CD version of the tracks. The double-A single precedes an EP/Mini album out early next year, with a full studio album to follow in the summer.

Marc Almond, who won the Ivor Novello Inspiration Award this year, will be touring the UK in autumn following the release. His London date at Union Chapel on November 3rd is already sold out.
