Foreigner Announce Rockin’ At The Ryman

There are bands that lose their soul when they have to substitute their frontman. Some of them turn into deluxe cover bands. Some others instead prove they are able to reinvent their career and to start a new life: AC/DC with Brian Johnson, Black Sabbath with Dio, Iron Maiden with Bruce Dickinson, Deep Purple…

When Foreigner had to find a new singer, many were wondering how the band could continue their strong legacy in keeping with their prestigious past. With over 70 million albums sold, and a number of hit singles to their name, Kelly Hansen showed how this could be executed in a seamless manner.

His stage presence is impressive and he is simply one of the most gifted rock voices around today. With inspiration from founding lead guitarist/songwriter Mick Jones, Kelly breathed new life into some of the best songs in rock‘n’roll.

The first album with Hansen, “Can’t Slow Down”, reached high chart positions in the USA and UK and charted in the Top 40 in most territories around the world. Foreigner have been constantly touring for the last year, establishing themselves all over the globe as the quintessential American Rock band (despite the fact that Jones is proudly English).

Together with Mick Jones and Kelly Hansen, the current line-up of super-talented musicians are completing the definitive version of this extraordinary band: Jeff Pilson on bass, Tom Gimbel on guitar and saxophone, keyboardist Michael Bluestein and Mark Schulman on drums. Jones has also reached unique success as a producer (Van Halen, Billy Joel).

On the back of the huge success of “Can’t Slow Down,” Foreigner delivers one of the most spectacular live rock shows. With a renewed energy, March 16th, 2010, was the night of nights for the band. Foreigner rocked the beautiful, historical Ryman Theatre in Nashville, USA and showed once and for all that the current line-up is possibly the best ever. “Rockin’ At The Ryman” contains the full concert filmed in high definition on Blu-ray and DVD. Songs from the most recent album and classics drove their fans crazy. The audience was overwhelmed with the energy from the band as they sped through their set, giving one of the greatest and most reveled shows of their career
