ALICECOOPER.COM
Alicecooper.com crashed today as it has been doing intermittently since fans were invited to submit their personal videos of ‘sideshow and freak’ acts to hopefully take part in Alice Cooper’s Halloween Night of Fear Shows at the Roundhouse London later this year. The unprecedented response caused the website to crash, and every time they get the it up and running again, the volume of traffic keeps causing it to crash again. Alice’s IT team are working overtime to keep the website live so that the freaks can submit their videos to get a timeslot for the auditions, which will take place at The London Dungeon on Monday 9th August. On Monday 2nd August, alicecooper.com began accepting video submissions of ‘sideshow and freak acts.” Now we know that Britain has definitely Got Freaks…… The best will be invited to a live audition on 9th August at The London Dungeon, 28-34 Tooley Street, London, SE1 2SZ at 7.30 PM where they will ‘perform’ in front of a panel of judges in what will surely be the most bizarre talent show this country has ever seen! The panel will consist of Alice himself, along with Planet Rock’s Nicky Horne and Time Out’s Tim Arthur. The freakiest and most outrageous freaks will then become part of the show at Alice Cooper’s Halloween Night of Fear at the Roundhouse London on 31st October and 1st November. Alice will perform his “Theatre of Death” concert in two very special and unique Halloween shows at The Roundhouse, and be joined by special guests The Jim Rose Circus and Zodiac Mindwarp and The Love Reaction. Full details of the Halloween shows are:-
Tickets go on sale on Friday the 13th August at 9 AM at www.livenation.co.uk … and special VIP packages will be available at www.alicecooper.com. More than an Alice Cooper show, this is the ultimate Alice Cooper Experience!!! The Jim Rose Circus is a modern-day freak show, founded by Jim Rose in the early 1990’s and which found fame during Lollapalooza in 1993. His show features a mixture of the bizarre, the comic and the repulsive… and has since achieved world-wide cult status. Zodiac Mindwarp & The Love Reaction are renewing their association with Alice Cooper, having toured with Alice in 1988, a year after they achieved a top 20 with “Prime Mover”. Zodiac Mindwarp also co-wrote “Feed My Frankenstein” for Alice, as featured in the “Wayne’s World” movie. |
2nd August 2010
It is more than 40 years since Alice Cooper pioneered Shock Rock, and now he is pushing the boundaries of acceptability and decency once more! On October 31st and November 1st Alice will perform two very special and unique Halloween shows at The Roundhouse, London. For these performances, Alice will be joined by world-renowned alternative performer Jim Rose (of the infamous Jim Rose Circus) as well as Zodiac Mindwarp and The Love Reaction. But wait! The line-up is by no means complete, nor depraved enough yet. Alice is seeking new performers to enhance these ghoulish shows. Think circus sideshow, think freaky, think unbelievable, shocking and totally weird. Nothing less will impress the master of all things horrific! For a period of 5 days only (ending 7th August), Alice will be accepting video submissions of ‘sideshow and freak acts’ to his website (www.alicecooper.com). We know Britain’s Got Talent, but has Britain Got Freaks???? SONISPHERE ROCK’N’HORROR SHOW!!!
Rock and Horror… they have long been extremely comfortable bedfellows. Starting with Alice Cooper’s blend of top-notch rock tunes and shocking, bloody and graphic stage antics. Followed not so coincidentally by the Rocky Horror Show:’s abduction, seduction and great songs! Now, those clever people at Sonisphere have combined the 2 genres to maximum effect and bring rock fans a stunning musical and visual opening to the 3-day festival on 30th July. Headlining the Saturn Stage is Alice Cooper, who will be performing his entire 90-minute Theatre of Death show and will (hopefully!) prove he is truly indestructible!! Alice dishes out torture and fights off death by hanging, impaling, strangulation and all manner of gruesome visuals, while delivering classics such as “Schools Out” and “Poison”. The theme for Friday night at Sonisphere is Rocky Horror fancy dress and there will spot prizes for fans who have made a special effort (from T-shirts to a backstage tour!). Tickets for SONISPHERE KNEBWORTH are on sale now at www.sonispherefestivals.com <http://www.sonispherefestivals.com/> - tickets for Friday are £40, with a full weekend ticket going for just £132.50. With no booking fee and a host of exclusive performances there is no better value for UK Festival Fans this summer! Going along with the Rocky Horror theme, Sonisphere will be making an attempt to make it into the Guinness Book of World Records by having the most people doing the Time Warp. The record currently stands at 4446 which was achieved in Birmingham in June 2000. This will take place at the front of Saturn stage at 6pm. A video showing you how to do the Time Warp will be posted on the Sonisphere website soon so you have plenty of time to practice. There will also be people leading it from the stage. Dress up in style and it could be you! And, if that is not enough, Bizarre – the world’s biggest alternative lifestyle and culture magazine – will be curators of the Bohemia tent on Friday night. Taking over the inside of the big top they will be throwing visual treats onto the walls, roof and screens. Freaky, amazing and jaw-dropping performances will take place overhead, on the stage and in the middle of the crowd. Bands will include Terrorvision, 65daysofstatic, Fastway, Sylosis, Bigelf and Black Spiders. The night ends with outrageous Bizarre DJs pumping out the sort of tunes that make you want you to throw yourself around. Come Saturday morning it will all be just a hazy memory so make sure you spend some time in there before it vanishes before your eyes. Alice Cooper is one of rock’s all-time icons and has sold millions of singles and albums in his 40-year career. In addition to his numerous studio albums and live concert recordings, last year Alice added to his previous silver-screen appearances when he appeared in the Vampire-Rock-Comedy-Horror movie SUCK. SUCK will be available on DVD and Blu-ray later in the year. As a special treat for fans at Sonisphere, there will be a SPECIAL Preview screening of the movie at Midnight on Friday 30th July on the Saturn Stage* (Stage 2). Also appearing elsewhere at 2010’s Sonisphere are Alice’s fellow SUCK cast members, Iggy Pop and Henry Rollins. * time could change depending on stage performances |
